Pre-Engaged

I heard this term on the Steve Harvey Morning Show this morning during the "Strawberry Letter." I was like - what? huh?

Have you heard of this term before?

I guess it means your boyfriend hasn't formally proposed yet, but you've talked about marriage — so you're "pre-engaged."

Thoughts?

That's BS. Sounds like another excuse that women are giving to justify someone not having given them a ring. Either you are engaged or you are not. That's just me.

I've never heard of someone being 'pre-engaged'; however, I do know someone who has done pre-engagement counseling. Sort of like couple counseling to help you determine if you should get engaged and eventually married. I think this is a great thing. Many times you are already engaged when you go through pre-marital counseling. If things are revealed during the counseling sessions, many couples are hesitant to delay/postpone the wedding once the ring is on the finger and wedding dates are confirmed. I was listening to a pastor a couple of weeks on the radio and he goes HARD with his pre-marital counseling sessions. He asks if you are living together, having sex, etc. If you are to either, he discontinues the sessions until the situation is rectified. He said his main goal is to break couples apart who think they are meant for each other. I wonder how many people come to him for counseling. LOL!
