Bush Backlash?

So, I heard that some folks are upset that Reggie Bush is on the cover of Essence Magazine's "Black Men, Love & Relationships" issue. Their argument is that Reggie Bush really doesn't represent Black Love because he's dating someone who is not African American.

(though Reggie Bush may disagree. have you seen Kim Kardashian's behind - just kidding)

What are your thoughts?

I don't think should be on the cover of the "love issue" of Essence. This particular issue always celebrates black love, and he truly does not represent that in my eyes. Unless he is going to discuss why black men are increasingly dating women outside of their race, then he really has nothing to contribute. I don't mind him being on the cover of any other issue just cause he's fine, but not the love issue. That's just me.

I really never gave this issue much thought because I rarely read the magazine. But, someone brought it up tonight- so I looked into it. I have to say- I agree with those complaining. If the article was highlighting black love- he simply should not have been featured. He is dating a white woman (yes, Armenian is white/caucasian). That was somewhat of a spit in the face- there are other men, just as beautiful who love "us". Oh- and I am sure Kims "butt" is implanted.
