Aging

When did I start looking my age?

I've always been proud when people couldn't guess my age.
Most thought I was 5-10 years younger than I was.

But not lately.

Most guys are guessing that I'm in my early '30s. Huh?
When did I stop looking like a hot 25-year-old ?

Are my boobs sagging? Is my face losing its youthful glow?
Is my behind drooping? Are their bags under my eyes?

I don't get it. I try to eat right. I exercise. I minimize
stress as much as possible.

Is it my hair? Maybe the way I dress?

I mean I feel young. But obviously the outside doesn't mirror the inside.

What about you? Do you think you look older?

When a Man Hits a Woman

Recently I had a conversation with a friend about the Rihanna and Chris Brown
situation.

She said, "We don't know what Rihanna did."

It reminded me of the movie, "What's Love Got To Do With It," based on the life
of legendary singer Tina Turner. Tina was trying to explain to her mother, that
Ike (Turner) was beating her. Her mother said, "Well, honey, what did you do?"

My friend is a very smart and accomplished woman, but yet she thought it was okay for Chris Brown to hit Rihanna if she had hit him first or had done some terrible thing to make him angry. She said, "What if he was defending himself?"
Her point was that if a woman is hitting, beating on a man, a man should have a right to "defend" himself or the woman should just keep her hands to herself.

Huh?
In essence, she was advocating domestic violence.

To somehow insinuate that Rihanna deserved to be beat because she may have done something to provoke Chris Brown is just utterly ridiculous to me. But my good friend
said that this was the prevailing sentiment among young Black girls who were polled.

wow. That's sad.

In my humble opinion, a woman doesn't deserve to be beat - plain and simple. If a man is in a situation where he feels things may get out of hand, walk away. This may be easier said than done. But if a relationship brings out the worst in you, it may not be the best thing for you.

Love is hard. But Love shouldn't hurt you.

What do you think? Do you think a man should "defend" himself if a woman hits him first? In what situations do you think it's okay for a man to hit a woman?
